Scorpio is a vertically scrolling shooter. The player has to cross five levels while shooting a lot of enemies. After destroying a whole formation, it leaves a capsule behind which grants a power up when picked up, e.g. weapon upgrades or a satellite. After a losing a life, caused by touching the environment or enemies, the player has to replay the whole stage and extra ships are earned by scoring a certain amount of points. The game features default rapid fire and four difficulty levels.
