NBA Play By Play is an officially licensed basketball game made for arcades that allows the player to take control of any of the NBA's 29 teams. The game can be played up to four players using 2-player teams. The objective of the game is to play through the 1998 NBA playoffs and eventually win the the NBA finals. Gameplay is similar to Konami's other basketball game, NBA Give 'n Go, however the camera is now at a sideline, or broadcast view. A variety of special plays can be performed aside from the standard shoot and pass such as an alley-oop, dunk fake, rebound dunk, double clutch, pump fake, and fade away or hook shot.
