Game play occurs on a multi-screen grid consisting of different terrains. The player controls a single keep, with the goal to take over enemy lands and destroy their center of power. The player levies tax upon their peasants, and must increase their tax base to raise funds to produce troops and purchase spells. Money can go towards purchasing Knights or Men-at-Arms. As well, new spells for your necromancer can be purchased.
