Syncron is a 1-player science fiction-themed arcade game for multiple systems. Played from a top-down perspective on a vertically scrolling playfield, the player's ship can move laterally and reverse direction. The ship can randomly hyperspace anywhere in the level, but this has a 35 perecent chance of destroying the player. On each level, the goal is to collect power orbs by shooting the highly defended orb containers, and then picking up the revealed orb. These orbs can then be stored at a landing field and, if the player is destroyed, they restart from their most recent landing location. While sitting on a runway the player can check lives remaining and number of orbs required to collect on the level. After collecting all the orbs, the player must reach 10,000 points by shooting alien spacecraft and bombing land targets. After this, the player can locate and bombs the enemy headquarters. The player can choose to restart on any level they have already completed, and starts each level with three ships.
