Ape Escape

Ape Escape served as a showcase title for the PlayStation's new DualShock controller. The player would use the left analog stick to move and the right stick to control various gadgets. The story of Ape Escape centers on a monkey named Specter who comes across one of the Professor's Pipo helmets. The helmet grants Specter an enormous intellect which he uses to mass produce the helmets and create an army of monkeys with which he plans to conquer time itself! The hero Spike must use his arsenal of special monkey catching gadgets invented by the Professor, travel back to various time periods, and capture all the mischievous monkeys before Specter's plan of global and historical domination can come to fruition.
